Dr. Angela Powell

Owner

Dr. Angela Powell entered active duty service for the US Navy in 2006 upon completion of residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Lieutenant Powell served as the Division Officer for her training unit in Officer Indoctrination School and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander in September 2006 while newly-stationed at Naval Medical Center San Diego. As the only General Otolaryngologist for this busy group practice, she distinguished herself by ranking among the top 10% of military otolaryngologists for patient encounters. She was selected to be a spokesperson for the Navy Medical Leads Assistance Program aiding in the recruitment and retention of minority healthcare providers and was featured in recruitment materials. She deployed with the USNS Comfort humanitarian mission in 2007 providing otolaryngic care to a dozen Central and South American countries and upon returning to San Diego was awarded the 2007 Resident Teacher of the Year Award for her tireless dedication to resident training through chapter reviews, lectures and one-on-one didactics. She was Co-Director of the first-ever, tri-service Endoscopic Sinus Surgery course offering in collaboration with the University of California at San Diego in 2009 and received the Program Director’s Award for outstanding contributions to the residency program before her transfer to the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. She spent a six-month temporary duty assignment at the Naval Hospital Pensacola from February to August of 2011 where she was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for distinguishing herself as an exceptional clinician and for her role in a seamless rollout of the electronic medical record (Essentris). Upon transfer to Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX) in September 2011, she served several years on the Medical Executive Committee chairing first the Medical Records Committee and later the Professional Practice Evaluation Committee. While stationed in Jacksonville, she was nominated for the Military Health System Female Physician Leader of the Year Award twice and ranked as a top 5 Navy finalist. She completed all training requirements to achieve the Executive Medicine Advanced Qualification Designator, co-directed the command’s first Lean In Circle women’s leadership group and was promoted to the rank of Commander. Her exceptional contributions and leadership at NHJAX were acknowledged as the recipient of a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal prior to her transfer to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in October 2017. She completed training as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and served as the lead belt on a process improvement project to better capture surgeon and anesthesia provider productivity in the main operating room at WRNMMC. She completed her tour and transitioned to the USN reserves in December 2019 receiving a Joint Service Commendation Medal as a testament to exemplary service throughout her active military career. She completed her tenure as Chair of the Otolaryngology section of the National Medical Association and President of the Harry Barnes Medical Society in July 2022 and served as the first African American to Chair the Women in Otolaryngology Section of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery from 2019-2020. She transitioned from active duty to civilian practice in December 2019 completing over two years as an employed otolaryngologist for the Guthrie Medical Group before embarking on her own solo private practice venture as the founder and owner of Plattsburgh ENT in Plattsburgh, NY slated to open its doors in October 2022.

 

Jessica Bashaw

Allergy Nurse / LPN

Jessica Bashaw has been with Plattsburgh ENT as an allergy nurse/LPN since the day we opened our practice. Jessica had previously been with Dr. Jacques Piche MD. as an allergy nurse/LPN since June of 2021. Jessica is a valued member of our staff and she is highly dedicated, hardworking and she loves her job. Jessica came to our company highly recommended from several highly regarded members of the local medical community and that recommendation has been lived up to and then some. 
 
Prior to her employment with Dr. Jacques Piche MD, Jessica was employed by Plattsburgh Pediatrics as an LPN from 2018-2021. Jessica was employed by Five Star Urgent Care as a LPN from 2016-2018. Other prior employment experiences Jessica has is working with Denton Publications in Elizabethtown NY as a Sales Representative from 2012-2015. Jessica was a volunteer driver, attendant, first responder for Willsboro/Essex EMS Companies from 2017-2018 and for the Elizabethtown/Lewis EMS Company from 2010-2012. 
 
Jessica earned her LPN license from the CV-TEC Practical Nursing Program in Plattsburgh NY back in July of 2017. She has continued to be an active licensed LPN since obtaining her degree. Jessica also has certifications in CPR, NYSIIS and Medication Administration/IV Administration. 

Stacey Sears

Allergy Nurse / LPN

Stacey Sears has been with Plattsburgh ENT as an Allergy Nurse/LPN since the day we opened our practice. Stacey had been employed with Dr. Jacques Piche MD. as an Allergy Nurse/LPN since September of 2018. Stacey is a valued member of our staff and she is highly dedicated, hardworking and she loves her job. Stacey came highly recommended to us by a well respected member of the local medical community. She has been exceptional in her work, she’s very dependable and the patients loves her.
 
Prior to her employment with Dr. Jacques Piche MD, Stacey was employed by WellNow Urgent Care of Plattsburgh NY as an LPN. She currently is still employed with WellNow Urgent Care and has been with them since May of 2017. Prior to her employment with WellNow Urgent Care, Stacey was employed by In Health Family Medicine of Plattsburgh NY as an LPN. Stacey was also previously employed with Advanced Womens Healthcare of Plattsburgh, NY from July 2014 – March 2016. She was also employed by Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh NY from June 2008 – March 2012 and also Hospice of the North Country in Plattsburgh NY from January 2006 – June 2008. Stacey also has experience as a Home Health Aide as she was a private duty homecare worker from January 2002 – June 2004.
 
Stacey has an Associates in Liberal Arts Degree from Clinton Community College here in Plattsburgh NY. She obtained this degree in May of 2014. She also obtained her LPN from CV-TEC Practical Nursing Program in Plattsburgh NY back in 2004. Stacey has certifications in CPR, NYSIIS and Medication Administration/IV Administration.
